Dear colleagues, cari amici dell'Italia! Welcome to MovItalia, the mailing list for music research with a connection to Italy beyond subject and country borders! What is MovItalia? "MovItalia. Perspectives for Music Research in Italy" is a cooperation project between the German Historical Institute (DHI) in Rome and the Gesellschaft für Musikforschung. It is a mailing list to promote communication and information about the unique music research opportunities related to Italy. For one, the data platform is aimed at gathering information, it shows research and career perspectives and also serves as a professional networking space for students and scholars at all career levels, who share an interest in both music and Italy on an international scale. The project has been supervised by Prof. Dr. Sabine Meine and Dr. Carolin Krahn since spring 2021; the student assistant at the DHI is Elena Maria Artisi, B.A. How you can use the mailing list: The mailing list enables its participants to share questions, calls for applications, research opportunities, etc. in the field of music research with a connection to Italy in an uncomplicated way. The main aim is a professional exchange about, for example, whether archives are being reopened, where primary sources on certain topics can be found, or other practical questions that arise in the course of research projects. At the same time, the mailing list can be used for the communication of international academic events at the interface of music and Italy, e. g. by sharing call for papers, for information on scholarship grants and job opportunities, on workshops or open seminars, etc. How to register: You can enter your e-mail address by clicking the link https://www.listserv.dfn.de/sympa/subscribe/gfm.ausland and activating your subscription via a confirmation link. We are looking forward to a lively exchange about the musical culture of Italy!
